UCSB is continuing the rollout of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) with Duo to campus applications. On September 28, 2021, the timekeeping service (Kronos) will require the use of MFA/DUO. Students, faculty, and staff that utilize Kronos and who have not set up an MFA/DUO account for themselves will need to do so in order to access Kronos. Provided you have already set up MFA/DUO, there is nothing new you need to do. Over the next year, it will become the norm for UCSB computing services to require the use of MFA/DUO for all students, faculty, and staff.

If you have not already set up MFA/DUO, please visit it.ucsb.edu/mfa and enroll your device in MFA with Duo before September 28 if you use Kronos.

Additional applications will start requiring MFA/DUO over the next year. Be prepared to use MFA/DUO for other UCSB applications from that point forward. MFA is one of the most robust tools we have against unauthorized account access, and it only takes a few minutes to add that extra layer of security.
