Dear Payroll Managers and Timekeepers,

Next month, we will be refreshing the Timekeeping website with a new look and an updated layout.

The new website brings some changes to the content found there. Most job aids and documentation that payroll staff currently find on the Timekeeping website will be migrated to a Knowledge Base in ServiceNow, along with other new resources. The Timekeeping Knowledge Base is slated to launch in the coming weeks.

The new Timekeeping website will also feature a Blog page, where updates about upcoming Mini Tune-Ups (MTUs) will be posted. Next month, the Timekeeping team will host its first Mini Tune-Up (MTU) via Zoom.

These Timekeeping MTUs are modeled after the MTUs hosted by BFS. They are intended to provide a refresher for campus payroll staff, and give in-depth explanations for different concepts and processes related to Kronos and timekeeping. Participants will be able to submit questions regarding each MTU topic prior to the training which will be addressed toward the end of each session. MTUs will also be recorded and posted for those who are not able to attend.

The first MTU is planned for February 18, 2021 and will focus on effective dates. Effective dates are used for many components of Kronos configuration (accrual profile, pay rule, etc.) and can be an important part of system and payroll processing. Understanding when and how to use effective dates can minimize errors and provide a smoother payroll processing.

Submit questions to our first MTU: Effective Dates here.

Please submit a Timekeeping ticket at ithelp.ucsb.edu if you have any questions. Thank you.
